Channel 4 Launches Menopause Policy

That the Parliament acknowledges World Menopause Day on 18 October 2019 and commends actions, big and small, to smash menopause stigma, improve workplace policies and remove barriers to women living with peri-menopause or menopause symptoms; commends the broadcaster, Channel 4, for the launch of its workplace menopause policy to coincide with World Menopause Day; understands that the policy will help support women experiencing menopausal symptoms, including hot flushes, anxiety and fatigue, and that they will be offered flexible working arrangements and paid leave if they are unwell; notes that the broadcaster will also offer private, cool and quieter workspaces, a working environment assessment to ensure physical workspace is not negatively impacting on a woman’s menopause symptoms, and additional support and guidance; believes this to be an important policy that contributes to normalising a taboo subject, and encourages all organisations, especially employers, to take practical steps to tackle stigma and create supportive environments for women at all stages of their lives.
