Greenock Graduate Stuart Adams, Young Software Engineer of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Stuart Adams, who is from Greenock, on being named Scotland’s Young Software Engineer of the Year and receiving £2,500 in prize money; recognises that the University of West of Scotland student won first prize for an innovative project describing the mathematical theory behind modern photorealistic rendering and that contributes to the field of computer graphics by showing a simple, practical implementation of physically-based rending; notes that, for 30 years, the Young Software Engineer of the Year Awards, have recognised the best undergraduate software projects drawn from across all students studying computer science and software engineering across the country; acknowledges that the event is organised by ScotlandIS, the trade body for the digital technologies industry, and were presented this year at the ScotSoft2019 dinner, with over 550 guests from the industry; believes that Stuart is a worthy winner of this award, and wishes him well.
