Shettleston Community Growing Project
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Shettleston Community Growing Project on its recent £4,000 Tesco Bags of Help grant; understands that the project has been working tirelessly for the last decade to provide a free service to people in the east end of Glasgow, helping them to reclaim knowledge about what it sees as the forgotten art of growing flowers and food together; notes that the grant has allowed it to invest further in its community wildlife garden and has helped fund a well-deserved trip for its team of dedicated volunteers; believes that it offers something for everyone, including its Smelly Welly Club for children and volunteering opportunities for adults; acknowledges that £10 million has been donated to community groups across Scotland through this Tesco scheme, and sends its best wishes to everyone involved with Shettleston initiative.
