Dounreay and Team UK
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the work of the Department for International Trade in aiming to promote the UK’s nuclear expertise to maximise future export orders across the nuclear lifecycle; welcomes the recent contract between the Japanese Atomic Energy Authority and the department's "Team UK", which comprises of experts from Cavendish Nuclear, Wood plc and Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd; understands that the expertise of Team UK was developed through its decommissioning of the Dounreay site; believes that this experience will support the decommissioning of the Monju site at Tsuruga in Fukui prefecture, and welcomes the economic opportunities for the companies that are operating at the Dounreay.
