The motion

As an amendment to motion S5M-20035 in the name of Willie Rennie (Mental Health), insert at end "; recognises that increasing poverty and inequality must be tackled to improve mental health; agrees that UK welfare reform since 2010 has exacerbated mental health problems; acknowledges the impact that insecure work and housing has on mental health; recognises the importance of fully-funded mental health training and support for teachers, school nurses and others working with Scotland’s young people, and calls for a holistic strategy that seeks to prevent the causes of poor mental health as well as ensuring adequate provision of community and acute services to ensure that people of all ages can access the treatment that they require in a professional, stigma-free environment."
