Motion · S5M-20099 · 2 Dec 2019
Channel 4
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Channel 4 on its ice sculpture replacements for Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage on 28 November 2019 during its televised climate change debate programme; considers that the programme was an opportunity for all party leaders to highlight their climate change credentials but understands that Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage chose not to take part in engaging with one of the most important global issues; condemns the reported threats from the Conservative Party regarding the consequences for Channel 4 should it win the General Election; considers that, during an election period, broadcasters have an important role to play in highlighting the policies of all political parties, and believes that candidates seeking to be the Prime Minister should participate in such programmes and not hide from the electorate.
