Westquarter & Redding Cricket Club's Scottish Sport Awards Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Westquarter & Redding Cricket Club on winning the Local Club of the Year Award at the recent Sunday Mail sportscotland Scottish Sport Awards; understands that the club won this award due to its efforts to make its facilities accessible to as many people as possible, and for putting the community at the heart of everything it does; notes that the club has worked extensively with disabled people, which has been recognised by Cricket Scotland, with the club set to become one of four disability hubs in Scotland in 2020; considers that the club's self-funded nursery, built within its grounds, has been important in boosting local employment by allowing 70 families to work and by employing 20 people at the nursery itself; recognises that the club's success can be gauged by its membership numbers, having grown from 40 to around 200 in five years; congratulates the club, its membership and everyone involved, and wishes them all continued success in the future.
