Scullion LAW Debating Competition and Commitment to the Community

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Scullion LAW on 10 successful years of working in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council, local businesses, teachers and MSPs for the school debating competition; notes that the annual school debate final took place on 20 November 2019 at South Lanarkshire Council Headquarters in Hamilton; acknowledges that St Andrew's and St Bride's High School in East Kilbride and Uddingston Grammar took part in the final; congratulates St Andrew's and St Bride's High School on winning the debate; notes that Scullion LAW received a national legal award in 2019 in recognition of its commitment to community projects; acknowledges that projects include the Marie Curie Free Will Scheme, which has been running for five years, and understands that Scullion LAW has raised over £6,900 in 2019 for good causes by taking part in a variety of events such as the 23-mile Kiltwalk, firewalking, zip sliding, walking 5k and running 10k.
