Conservation of Blairfindy Castle
The motion
That the Parliament commends Speyside High School pupils, Ryan Duguid and James Smith, for their work in assisting with conservation efforts at the ruined Blairfindy Castle in Glenlivet; understands that the pupils have been doing work experience with local firm, Harper and Allan Masonry, as a component of their rural skills studies; notes that Blairfindy Castle has been derelict since being burned down in 1746 during the Jacobite Rising, and welcomes efforts to restore this scheduled ancient monument so that it will be fit for visitors to access in the future as part of Moray’s heritage.
