As an amendment to motion S5M-20415 in the name of Liz Smith (Education), insert at end "; believes that the concerns surrounding the implementation of curriculum for excellence provide further evidence that there must be a stronger system of continuous scrutiny and challenge; recalls that the Parliament passed motion S5M-04920 on 29 March 2017 calling for 'serious consideration' to be given to the inspection and policy functions of Education Scotland to be separated; regrets that this did not occur, and reiterates its concerns about the dual roles of Education Scotland."
