Kyle Coetzer, ICC Associate Cricketer of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kyle Coetzer, who is from Aberdeen, on being voted Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year at the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) Awards; acknowledges that the Scotland captain was shortlisted among a list of players from countries where cricket is firmly established but do not qualify for full membership of the world governing body; notes that the winner of this award is decided by a panel of international cricket journalists and broadcasters; recognises that Kyle's win follows a successful 2019, in which he led Scotland to qualification for the T20 World Cup, which is to be held in Australia in October and November 2020, and scored 842 international runs, including eight half-centuries, and acknowledges Kyle's contribution to the Scotland team since he made his international debut in 2003.
