Orkney's Jimmy Dakin Shortlisted for Learner of the Year

That the Parliament congratulates Jimmy Dakin, who is from Orkney, on being named as a finalist in Lantra Scotland’s Awards for Land Based and Aquaculture Skills, which will take place on 5 March 2020 at Dunblane Hydro; understands that the awards celebrate the achievements of those who are learning and developing their skills in aquaculture and land-based industries, while also highlighting the invaluable role of their mentors and those who invest time and energy into supporting their development; recognises that Jimmy, who has been doing an SVQ with Scottish Sea Farms through the North Atlantic Fisheries College Marine Centre at the University of Highlands and Islands, has been shortlisted for the Land Based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year, which recognises outstanding trainees who have shown incredible passion and ability in their work; commends Jimmy on this prestigious and well-deserved recognition; considers that it is testament to his hard work and dedication to gaining more experience and developing his skill-set; wishes Jimmy and all of the finalists at this year’s awards the very best of luck, and hopes that they have an enjoyable evening at the ceremony.
