Orkney College Fundraises for Australian Firefighters' Charities
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates students at Orkney College UHI on organising a successful fundraiser for Australian Firefighters’ charities; recognises that the students ran an Australian-themed coffee morning, which raised £510 for New South Wales and Victoria Firefighter charities; further recognises that Traeskattir, the Orkney College UHI Young Enterprise Team, generously donated £50 of its business profits to support the effort; notes that all of the funds will help to support emergency services staff who are responding to the devastating fires that have recently affected Australia; thanks all of the students and staff at Orkney College who generously supported the fundraising effort, and pays tribute to those who worked hard to organise a well-attended and successful event.
