Stobo Helps Australia
The motion
That the Parliament commends the Borders businessman, Stephen Winyard, who is chairman of Stobo Castle Health Spa, for his decision to take a leave of absence to assist with efforts to tackle the bush fires in Australia; understands that, while only qualified firefighters are permitted on the front line of the fires, Stephen intends to do all that he can to assist with secondary efforts such as the evacuation of residents, moving supplies and wildlife rescue; believes that this ties in with his and Stobo’s socially responsible approach to the business and long history of helping communities, both locally and further afield; wishes Stephen all the best with his efforts, and sends its condolences and solidarity to all those suffering as a result of the Australian fires.
