West Lothian Handball
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West Lothian Handball on being awarded £33,000 over four years in sportscotland Direct Club Investment, which it will use to employ a part-time community coach to help develop and expand its community programme to include Broxburn, Bathgate and West Calder, expand its membership by 135 and increase female participation; acknowledges that the voluntary organisation was founded in March 2008 by a group of active school coordinators who, in light of what they saw as the success of handball in their cluster schools, were keen to volunteer their time to create an overarching group to provide opportunities for the children to take part in the sport outwith their school sessions, and wishes all at West Lothian Handball well.
