The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Bathgate-based West Lothian Community Table Tennis Club on being awarded £29,500 over four years in sportscotland Direct Club Investment, which it will use to engage a part-time development officer to increase participation across all ages and abilities by coordinating and overseeing classes in community venues, which will include developing a programme of activities in the new Pop-in & Play area at the Centre, Livingston; recognises that one of the aims of the club, which is affiliated to the sport’s governing body, Table Tennis Scotland, is to encourage the population of West Lothian to participate in the activity, whether socially or competitively; understands that it believes that having a sense of camaraderie among its members is as important as them playing table tennis itself and that it makes every effort to maintain and foster a sense of community spirit, and wishes the club well.
