Moray's Guerrilla Gardeners
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the teams of volunteer “guerrilla gardeners” across Moray who, in response to reported cuts to local services, have stepped in to maintain green public spaces that were previously looked after by The Moray Council; believes that public parks and gardens are of great importance to the health and wellbeing of people, and great sources of community pride; welcomes the community spirit engendered by the volunteers and hopes that their work will inspire others to carry out similar activities; recognises however that, in many communities, this is not an option, and believes that the gardening and landscaping provision by The Moray Council should be maintained.
