Welcoming Moray's New Lord Lieutenant
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Major General Seymour Monro on being sworn in as the new Lord Lieutenant of Moray after recently accepting the sword of office at The Moray Council's headquarters; observes that Seymour, who has served as the Deputy Lord Lieutenant since 2011, was formerly the commanding officer of the 1st Battalion, Queen’s Own Highlanders, and that, since leaving the Army, he has been the President of Forres and District Pipe Band, the Chairman of the Findhorn, Nairn and Lossie Fisheries Trust and the Honorary President of the Forres Royal British Legion Branch, and wishes him well as he takes up this role as The Queen’s representative in Moray.
