NHS Fife Becomes Real Living Wage Employer
The motion
That the Parliament notes that NHS Fife has become one of the first health boards in Scotland to become a Real Living Wage employer; further notes that the move has seen Band 1 roles and salaries raised to Band 2 status, which increases the salaries of those benefitting from £17,949 to £18,600, and that this will be subject to a further uplift in April 2020 to £20,606; congratulates NHS Fife on becoming one of the first health boards in Scotland to do this; believes that it reflects the value placed on the staff and that many of those affected are the unsung heroes of the NHS in domestic or catering posts; applauds this action, and considers that it is an example that other health boards should be looking to emulate.
