Award-winning Incontinence Comedy Show
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Elaine Miller, a pelvic physiotherapist in Edinburgh, on winning the Comedy Award at the Fringe World Awards in Australia for her show, Gusset Grippers; applauds her work to raise awareness of the treatability of incontinence; notes that her use of comedy helps to destigmatise incontinence as a health issue, which it considers important as only one in five women who are affected seek help; recognises the need for a national strategy on incontinence, given that 34% of women in the UK have urinary incontinence; thanks Elaine for her efforts to raise awareness of this issue, and wishes her campaign every success.
