Compensation for Women Injured by Mesh Products
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the decision by the Federal Court in Australia to order the pharmaceutical company, Johnson and Johnson, and two affiliated companies to pay compensation of $2.6 million to three women who were injured by mesh implants; understands that they were ordered to do so on the grounds that they had misled patients and doctors about the safety and efficacy of nine mesh products, and welcomes this as a starting point to get justice for all women who have been injured by mesh products.
