The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that the town of Ayr is to get its own version of Monopoly; congratulates Ayr on beating 19 other Scottish towns and regions after game-makers recognised the many nationally significant landmarks in the area, including Robert Burns’ Cottage and Culzean Castle; considers this to be a clear recognition that Ayrshire has made a significant contribution to Scotland’s cultural and social fabric, with a number of internationally recognised landmarks; believes that this accolade can serve to benefit the town of Ayr and the surrounding area through increased tourism, and hopes that the new edition of the iconic board game is a success.
