Eday Housing Development Recognised at Scottish Home Awards

That the Parliament congratulates Scottish Sea Farms Ltd and Haydn Jones and Nick Lyde of Willowstream on being shortlisted for Small Housing Development of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards 2020; understands that the event, which is Scotland’s largest independent awards programme, celebrates excellence in new-build housing across the country; recognises that Scottish Sea Farms Ltd and Willowstream have been shortlisted for their collaboration to build six new eco-friendly homes on the island of Eday, Orkney; acknowledges that the development will build four homes to help overcome a shortage of accommodation for employees of the nearby salmon farm on the island and will create two additional homes that will be available for visitors or residents to rent; commends everyone involved in the project for their hard work and exceptional efforts to provide essential eco-friendly housing to a remote community, and wishes them the best of luck for the announcement of the winners in June 2020.
