10th Anniversary of Larkhall Community Growers
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Larkhall Community Growers on its 10th anniversary on 28 February 2020; notes that the garden is designed to be enjoyed by all ages and abilities from nursery to people over 70; recognises that the garden is a community-facing facility and provides a training and team building area that can develop skills that can help employment; welcomes the addition of a children’s section where local schools and nurseries can use the garden to learn about gardening, plant herb boxes and play; recognises that the garden promotes healthy eating and fresh produce as people can grow their own fruit and vegetables in the community, and notes that the garden is part of the Larkhall Community Plan, which recently conducted a survey and received over 1,800 responses, which it considers will have a positive impact on life in Larkhall in the future.
