Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Leads the Way in COVID-19 Onsite Testing
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on becoming the first hospital in Scotland to offer onsite testing for COVID-19; notes that laboratory staff are currently capable of testing 160 cases per day and that test results are returned within seven hours; celebrates the anticipated arrival of a second machine capable of processing up to 600 tests per day; understands that increased testing carried out locally will dramatically reduce waiting times with less packaging and transportation required; acknowledges that onsite testing will allow patients to be processed more quickly, thereby maximising efficiencies, and celebrates the hard work of all NHS staff working on the front line of this global health crisis.
