Local Initiative Leaves Care Home Residents Feeling Like Spring Chickens
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the new feathered residents at Renaissance Care’s Jesmond facility in the Bridge of Don, Aberdeen; commends the residents and care home staff for successfully incubating 17 eggs, monitoring temperature, ventilation and humidity levels to ensure the perfect environment was met to produce healthy chicks; believes that the occupants of the care home eagerly awaited the arrival of the chicks, ensuring that they had everything they needed to grow in their temporary new home; understands that the hatchlings, once strong enough, were transferred to a box with a heat lamp, shelter and plenty of food and water; notes that the chicks were showered with love and affection and helped to keep residents entertained and active during the COVID-19 lockdown, and celebrates this initiative to bring joy to older people during this difficult time.
