Alison Williams, Providing Support to COVID-19 Patients
The motion
That the Parliament commends Alison Williams, who is a nurse at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh working on the COVID-19 wards, on establishing "Rainbow Boxes" to help and support patients who are arriving on the wards with little or no personal effects and no way of contacting family and friends; notes that the boxes are being provided to COVID-19 wards in Lothian and West Lothian and contain toiletries, reading materials, iPads and phone chargers; acknowledges that Alison has set up a fundraising page at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/alison-williams-475, which has so far raised over £21,000 towards this work, and welcomes the very practical support that the contents of the boxes provide to patients.
