Bonnyrigg DJ Raises £7,000 for the NHS
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Billy Dempsey, who is a DJ from Bonnyrigg, and his wife, Louise, on raising £7,000 that has spent on items for NHS hospitals across Lothian; notes that Billy and Louise have did this by hosting online fundraisers through hosting online discos using Facebook Live, at facebook.com/CityDiscos/, and that the money has been spent on goods such as iPads, radios, books, puzzles, slippers and toiletries; recognises that this means of fundraising has brought fun to the community at the same time as adhering to the government guidance on staying at home; welcomes this innovative way of supporting a good cause and preventing people from feeling isolated; wishes Billy and Louise all the best, and thanks them for their generosity in helping NHS workers and people affected across Lothian who are affected by COVID-19.
