The ScranMeals Coalition Supporting Edinburgh's Vulnerable
The motion
That the Parliament applauds The Scran Academy, and its employees and volunteers, for coordinating the ScranMeals coalition, which is providing around 400 meals per day to vulnerable residents in self-isolation across Edinburgh because of the COVID-19 outbreak; understands that the Pilton-based youth charity has established a highly-organised production line to get thousands of free, healthy meals distributed to vulnerable people during the crisis; notes that, within two weeks and alongside a network of partnership organisations with a total of 12 minibuses, it has funded, cooked and delivered over 3,600 meals and is hoping to deliver a further 2,100 in the near future; congratulates the coalition on its extensive fundraising activities; thanks all involved in supporting vulnerable people during this period, and wishes them every success during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.
