Aberdeen Care Home Residents Receive an Uplifting POST
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the introduction by the Aberdeen-based innovative sharing platform, POST, of its initiative, Dear Friend; recognises that this free service encourages children and adults alike to write to people in care homes who are facing extreme loneliness and isolation during the COVID-19 outbreak and that anyone interested in participating can visit dearfriend.postabdn.com to introduce themselves, share a story or upload a drawing; notes that these messages are forwarded to the homes that have signed-up to receive them and that they are then shared with residents who are isolated from friends and family, and applauds everyone involved with this creative plan, which it believes will spread comfort and joy during these uncertain and trying times.
