Councillor Peter Johnston Retires
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Councillor Peter Johnston on his 35 years of public service; acknowledges Peter's dedication and commitment to his constituents, community groups and businesses in Ladywell, Livingston, since the mid-1980s, having first been elected as a Councillor for West Lothian District Council prior to being elected to West Lothian Council; understands that during his tenure Peter served as Council Leader twice and as SNP Group Leader for a remarkable 28 years, and wishes him a long and happy retirement.
