LNER Support During COVID-19
The motion
That the Parliament thanks LNER, its employees and everyone working in the rail industry on continuing to keep fellow key workers moving safely at this challenging time; notes the use of #RailwayFamily to promote supportive social media posts, including a video LNER created that thanks customers for carrying out essential travel only, fellow key workers, including NHS staff, for looking after the country, and people across the railway for keeping key workers moving; applauds LNER's role in supporting businesses, including a key supplier in Bradford, by having 5,000 sandwiches each week go to the anti-hunger charity, FareShare; notes that the company has donated 520 eggs to Matthew Healy and the Foundry team to make food for Sunday lunches cooked for hundreds of NHS frontline staff in Leeds; acknowledges that it has also set up an advice and support network for its employees volunteering their time across communities, and thanks the rail industry for its support and services provided during this difficult period.
