The Indefinite Right to Remain for All Foreign National Key Workers and Their Families

The motion

That the Parliament calls on the UK Government to improve on its proposed one-year visa extension for all foreign national key workers; considers that this visa extension does not go far enough, but instead offers only another year of uncertainty for key workers and their families; believes that all industries working on the front line of the fight against COVID-19 are reliant on the contribution of foreign national key workers; considers that this is particularly clear in relation to the NHS; recognises that the work of foreign national key workers is vital to the safety and protection of Scotland; believes that, without their continued hard work, the journey to Scotland’s recovery following the COVID-19 outbreak will be much more difficult, and encourages the UK Government to offer instead the indefinite right to remain to all foreign national key workers and their families, minimising uncertainty for all should the worst happen.
