Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week 2020
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Week runs from 20 to 26 April 2020; notes that MS is a neurological condition that damages the nerves in the body, making it hard for people to complete everyday tasks such as walking, talking, eating and thinking; understands that MS affects over 130,000 people in the UK, with Scotland showing one of highest rates in the world; celebrates the efforts of both MS Society Aberdeen and MS Society Scotland for their continued support to their members; highlights that, during the current COVID-19 crisis, both have expanded their weekly offerings to include yoga, mindfulness and seated exercise classes, encouraging those who have had limited interaction in the past to get online and broaden their horizons, and applauds their commitment to keeping members connected and active while self-isolating.
