The Event Complex Aberdeen Recognised at RICS Social Impact Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) on winning the award for Best Commercial Project at the Royal Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Social Impact Awards; acknowledges that the venue, which has been open for one year, was described by RICS as “a world-class events and leisure complex”; understands that this project demonstrates how buildings can make towns and cities more inclusive, and can deliver communities that people can be proud of; notes that the design of TECA includes an energy centre; further notes that food and garden waste collected throughout Aberdeen is digested at an anaerobic plant, resulting in hydrogen gas, which powers the energy centre, supplying the entire Events Complex, including on-site hotels, and looks forward to the reopening of this fabulous new facility when the COVID-19 crisis is under control.
