NCL Lecturer, Kiera Ward, Holds Virtual Wedding Toast to Raise Money for Sick Kids
The motion
That the Parliament commends Kiera Ward, who is a lecturer at New College Lanarkshire (NCL) who held a virtual wedding toast on the planned date of her big day to raise money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity; notes that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Keira and her partner, David McAdam, invited close friends and family to take part in an online celebration on the day they should have tied the knot; acknowledges that they encouraged their virtual guests to make donations to the charity and that this act of kindness raised the incredible sum of £60,000 for the charity arm of the hospital, which had helped her walk again following complications from a leg injury at the age of 10, and wishes Kiera and David all the best for the future.
