International Nurses’ Day
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that 12 May 2020 is International Nurses’ Day, which is an annual event that celebrates the important contribution that nurses and health care support workers make to health and social care across Scotland and around the world every day; recognises that, in this the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, nursing staff across the world stand united in responding to a global pandemic; understands that the Royal College of Nursing's theme for this year’s International Nurses’ Day event is saying thank you to nursing staff for all that they do, and sends its appreciation to nursing staff across Scotland for their professionalism, hard work and dedication at this extremely challenging time.
