Transition Stirling and The Kitchen at 44 Feed their Communities
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the hard work and dedicated shown by volunteers of Transition Stirling and The Kitchen at 44 to help community members in need; welcomes their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic to maintain their activities and adapt them to suit changing needs and requirements; notes that The Wellbeing Fund, which is administered by the SCVO, awarded £23,085 to fund continued efforts to reduce supermarket food waste and meet growing demand for food among Stirling’s communities; understands that, since March 2020, Transition Stirling and The Kitchen at 44 have distributed over 10 tons of food to over 2500 attendees, and commends the dedication and outstanding commitment shown by these volunteers, and many more, to their neighbours and communities during the pandemic.
