Queen Margaret University Receives Funding to Research COVID-19

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Queen Margaret University on being awarded £92,242 from the Scottish Government to support it in rapid coronavirus research; understands that the university’s two research projects will aim to inform current health protection practice and policy in the provision of quality care in the context of COVID-19; considers that this research will benefit the wider community across Scotland and will play a significant role in understanding the effect that the virus will have on groups, and will also inform on supporting recovery from illness experienced in isolation due to a pandemic; acknowledges that researchers and universities are playing a crucial role in tackling the pandemic; thanks Queen Margaret University and its researchers for undertaking this vital work, and wishes them all the best with their studies in this area.
