Dr David Worthington of UHI Awarded Professorship
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dr David Worthington, who lectures at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), on being awarded the title of Professor of History; understands that David's academic interests include exploring the cultural memory of Scottish emigrants in late medieval and early-modern Poland, coastal history and the arrival of sugar in the Highlands and Islands; notes that he also chairs the advisory group involving the University and High Life Highland to support the Inverness Castle Project, which has been set up to contribute to the transforming of the castle into a major visitor attraction by 2024, and sends David its best wishes.
