Volunteers Week
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Volunteers Week is held between 1 and 7 June every year and is a week dedicated to celebrating the amazing successes and contributions of volunteers across the country; recognises the incredible recent volunteer response to COVID-19, with inspiring examples of community action and service across Scotland, including across Clackmannanshire, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane; applauds and celebrates the contributions of volunteers who have made such a huge difference to their local areas; acknowledges that Volunteer Week 2020 will focus particularly on the collective gratitude and recognition of the work of volunteers; encourages people to get involved in the Week’s celebrations and show their appreciation for those who have volunteered their time to help those around them, and thanks all those dedicated volunteers who have contributed so much to their communities over the last year, but in particular over the last few months, which have been extremely challenging.
