Aberdeen Organisations Receive Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the north east organisations that have received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, in recognition of the contribution they and their volunteers make to the local community; understands that recipients of the award in Aberdeen include Station House Media Unit (SHMU) for using its media skills to strengthen community links, Aberdeen Street Pastors, for its provision of support to people in need in the city centre, and We Too!, a charity that helps families affected by hidden disabilities; recognises that each of these organisations and their volunteers provide an invaluable service to Aberdeen communities, and commends them on receiving this prestigious award.
