Asda Motherwell and Newmains Donate Meals to Support Communities During the COVID-19 Outbreak

The motion

That the Parliament commends the Asda stores in Motherwell and Newmains on supporting the national Fight Hunger Create Change campaign, which will invest more than £20 million over three years to support FareShare and the Trussell Trust in tackling poverty; notes that Asda stores across the UK have been donating food directly to charities and community groups during the COVID-19 outbreak and have donated the equivalent of more than 800,000 meals to charities and community groups to help those affected by the pandemic; understands that this includes Asda Motherwell, which has donated 5,679 meals, and Asda Newmains, which has donated 294 meals, to support charities and community groups in Motherwell and Wishaw, and thanks all Asda staff for their hard work during these challenging times.
