Accessibility and Artists of Colour
The motion
That the Parliament considers that more must be done to highlight the artistic works of people of colour, and that it has an important part to play in this endeavour; believes that representation within the cultural sphere should reflect the diversity of Scotland; understands that there are barriers to career progression within the arts that disproportionately affect minority ethnic groups; believes that artists of colour should be made more visible within the Scottish culture sector and within Scottish history and education, and calls on the Scottish Government to set out how it plans to engage Scotland’s minority ethnic communities in the culture sector and promote the artistic works of people of colour within Scottish culture and education.
