Major Chris Brannigan
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Major Chris Brannigan, who is from Wiltshire, on completing a 700-mile barefoot walk from Land's End to Edinburgh Castle to raise over £560,000 for research into Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, which is a rare condition that his daughter, Hasti, was diagnosed with in 2018 and has no cure or specific treatment; notes that Chris began his journey on 6 July 2020 and arrived at the Castle on 12 August; acknowledges that the money raised will be invested in research into the condition and to help develop cutting-edge treatment; commends Chris for raising awareness about the impact of rare diseases on children, and sends its best wishes to him and Hasti.
