TD 1 Youth Hub Galashiels Delivers
The motion
That the Parliament commends and recognises the contribution of the young people at TD1 Youth Hub in Galashiels, which, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, has delivered over 800 food parcels to 116 families, providing an estimated 4,800 meals for over 300 people; notes that it has also supplied emergency immediate cash grants of £15 toward electric, shopping or internet costs to over 35 families that were struggling the most, delivered 520 arts and crafts packs to children and young people, providing hours of activities for families, and provided 150 young people with treat bags fortnightly throughout to keep their spirits up and as a reward for obeying rules; notes that it has delivered an average of four online digital group work sessions each week, with young people who could not see each other face to face, and over 250 hours of one-to-one support, and urges the Scottish Government to provide an indicative date regarding when vital indoor youth services, such as those provided by TD1 Galashiels, might resume.
