UNISON Day of Action on Pay
The motion
That the Parliament notes the outstanding efforts of all staff at St John’s Hospital, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, the Western General Hospital and across the whole health and social care sector during the COVID-19 crisis; considers that they have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic in full PPE, saving the lives of thousands of patients; understands that many politicians, including the First Minister, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport have been shown joining in the Thursday clap for NHS workers, and implores the health secretary to now back up her applause with an immediate and significant pay award for all health and social care staff, regardless of pay grade or job title.
