Solidarity with the Burton's Biscuit Co Strikers
The motion
That the Parliament offers its solidarity to workers at Burton's Biscuit Co who are beginning the first of three 24-hour strike actions over pay on 10 September 2020; understands that the company has offered its lowest paid key workers what it sees as a meagre 14p per-hour pay rise while the GMB trade union has proposed a 65p per-hour increase; urges the company to do right thing by its loyal employees, many of whom are struggling on low pay, and calls on management to get back to the negotiating table.
