Future of Wick Air Routes

Lodged by David Stewart Members' Business Motion 3 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges what it sees as the serious threat to the connectivity and development of the Caithness and Sutherland area with the collapse of air routes from Wick John O'Groats Airport to Aberdeen and Edinburgh; notes that the Scottish Government has still to decide on Caithness Chamber of Commerce’s business case for a Public Service Obligation on those routes, and that it has been talking to the UK Government and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, but notes with concern that no update has been provided on the way forward since Eastern Airways and Loganair withdrew their services, leaving the area with no scheduled services.
