Financial Support for North Edinburgh Arts and Pentlands Community Space
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates North Edinburgh Arts and Pentlands Community Space on their success in getting financial support through the Scottish Land Fund; notes that this will enable North Edinburgh Arts to take ownership of its current building, which it intends to extend and upgrade to create more space for additional enterprise units and a larger café; understands that a partnership between the City of Edinburgh Council and North Edinburgh Arts will also see the delivery of a brand-new culture and learning hub home to a new early years centre, library and arts and creative spaces; notes that Pentlands Community Space will now be able to buy a disused public toilet in Lanark Road, Juniper Green, demolish it and build a community hub providing space for photography and art clubs, some based on activities centred on the Water of Leith, where both children and adults can develop their hobbies, as well as creating a flat for affordable rent; commends the ingenuity and sustainable nature of both organisations' projects, and wishes them both the best of luck moving forward.
